DESCRIPTION:This Monday\, the 12th August\, we will have something very different for our summer outing. A steel wool photography tutorial will be given by two of our senior members. It will take place in Bray\, County Wicklow. Bring your tripod as it will be long exposure photography. If you have two tripods\, please bring both as some of our members may not have one! It should be great fun!\nIt will be dark underfoot when we are leaving our location\, so please bring a flash light or use the torch on your mobile phone.\nWe’ll meet at the Slip Hall at the gates of Castletown at 7.15 p.m.\, a little earlier than usual. DESCRIPTION:This Monday\, the 19th August\, our summer outing will be to Dublin City Centre.\nOnce in town we can meet on Rosie Hackett Bridge at approximately 8.15 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. This gives us options. Those wishing to do a little street photography\, well\, where better than Temple Bar! Those wishing to get nice water reflections can go to Grand Canal Quay and Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. The Diving Bell\, Samuel Beckett Bridge and The National Conference Centre are all much photographed images\, the challenge is to create something original!\nWe will meet at the Slip Hall at the gates of Castletown House at 7.30 p.m. The weather forecast is good. SUMMARY:Heritage Week: Photo Opportunity in Celbridge\, Saturday 24th of August.
DESCRIPTION:Kildrought House\, situated on the Main Street\, is the oldest house in Celbridge. The house was built in 1720 by a Dublin upholsterer & tapestry maker Robert Baillie. From 1782 to 1814 the house was known as the Celbridge Academy. It later became a fever hospital\, vicarage & a dispensary. It then reverted to a private residence.\nThe current owner\, June Stuart\, has given the Camera Club the opportunity to view the beautiful house and gardens this Saturday morning. We will meet at the Slip Hall at 10.15 and walk to the house on the Main Street.\nNumbers are limited to 20 in total. 10 in the gardens and 10 in the house at any one time.\nThere will be a cover charge of €3 per head.

SUMMARY:This Monday\, the 26th August\, our summer outing will be to the Twelfth Lock on the Royal Canal in Castleknock
DESCRIPTION:The Twelfth Lock is overlooked by the old Blanchardstown Mill and is book-ended with two bridges. It is a great example of a well maintained lock with a series of pontoons and at least 15 canal barges.\nWith light closing in early these evenings we won’t have too far to travel. It should take about 20 minutes to reach our destination.\nAs usual we will meet at the Slip Hall at the gates to Castletown House at 19.30. Everybody welcome\, old and new members.
