SUMMARY:Monday the 8th of October Olive Gaughan Offshoot CC
DESCRIPTION:Olive took up photography in 2007\, but always had an interest in art\, having done it to Leaving Cert.  Her initial interest was portraiture\, focused on her kids who were little at the time. Since then she has grown to love landscape and seascape photography\, and enjoy being “up before the world” when the light is at its best. She did her L in 2010 on landscape. Since then she has gone through phases – long exposure photography\, newborn photography\, still life\, and street photography. She returned to portraiture for her AIPF\, doing her panel on shadow portraits.  she is not sure what’s next for her photographically – work has taken over and she hasn’t been making enough time for it.  She has tried macro\, but she is  not yet very interested in it. Maybe more still life might be on the horizon and she is planning a new portraits project.\nshe did a talk on her A panel in Offshoot\, and the practical aspects involved. We can’t wait to see her work.

DESCRIPTION:Tara Keane (Photographer) graciously has stepped in as Joe Doyle has come down with the flu. Her interests are wildlife photography and she come highly recommended. Her background is as  a Wildlife Photographer from Dublin. This year she won  the Wildlife Photographer of the Year with IPPVA for a panel of images shot in Japan earlier this year. She also teaches photography at the national rehabilitation hospital in Dun Laoghaire and in the last couple of years she has developed an interest in music photography. (She will include a couple of images from Feile this weekend to reiterate her approach to Wildlife photography. ) \n

The address is McCarthys Farm Shallon Lane\, The Ward\, (North Co.Dublin) A big thank you to Marjan and her family who have invited us to their family farm. Normal Health and Safety rules will apply. Marjan will do the induction when we get there.\nSubject to no major rain deluge we shall be meeting at Marjan’s at 19.00 hours – The combine harvester is expected to be cutting barley at that hour. DESCRIPTION:This is the hand in and framing night for the exhibition. As usual we will need many hands on deck to help get all of the images framed\, so please come along to help out. \nNote that the exhibition is also the final round of the club league.  \nEach member is permitted to enter a single image in each of the media categories (i.e. one colour print\, one monochrome print and one digital projected image). \nMembers who are not competing in the league may still enter the exhibition. There will be a facility available on the night to clearly identify that their images are not to be considered in the club league. A similar facility will exist for the digital projected images. All of this will be explained clearly by the competition secretary prior to the hand in night. \nAll images submitted for the final round of the leage will be automatically included in the exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:On Monday 16th April we are going to try something new! We will have 3 live stages: \n\nImage Critique Stage: A number of senior members in the club will be on hand to critique images and to give suggestions and tips on how the images may be improved.\nQuestions about my Camera Stage: Some of our more technically minded members will be on hand and will hopefully be able to answer questions relating to features and settings of different types of camera. They may not be able to cover all makes and models but they will do their best.\nEnlightenment Stage: The club has studio lights that are available to members to borrow. These will be set up at one end of the hall members will be given a chance to try them out.
