SUMMARY:Early Morning Photography Nature Walk - Lucan Demesne
DESCRIPTION:Led by Shea Kavanagh\, this is a great chance to refine your nature photography skills. \nThe early morning nature walk this week will be on Friday May 2nd in St. Catherine’s Park / Lucan Demesne. We will meet up at the Lucan entrance at 6.00am.\nFor those who find 6.00am a little early\, they will find us in and around the weir area\, which is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance up to 7.15 am.\nThere should be plenty to interest everyone with the flora and fauna along the Liffey bank and further on into the Woodland Walk on the St. Catherine’s side. For the early risers\, we hope to enjoy the “tail end” of the Dawn Chorus and maybe catch sight and sound of some of the 30 varieties of birds that inhabit the park.\nThis entrance to the park is at the left hand side\, at the bottom of the slip road off the N4 to Lucan. There’s major construction works being carried out at the moment in the old car park at this entrance\, but there’s still pedestrian access. Parking is a bit restricted\, so I would recommend car pooling\, if possible. There is a new small car park opposite the T junction at the bottom of the slip road. Or if you turn right at the T junction and drive under the N4 flyover there are street parking spaces\, on the left hand side just before a Bus stop.\nI would suggest you bring multiple lenses\, if possible\, wide-angle /macro for the flora / fauna and landscape\, along with a tripod. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, you will learn the techniques required to take stunning Still Life photographs\, from conception and propping to composition and lighting\, through to the final image. We explore sources of inspiration\, finding objects\, selecting surfaces and building sets. We will be showing that all household items have the potential to become a Still Life Masterpiece\, and that you can create these at home using simple lighting. \nIf you could please bring some items with you for your still life image\, such as\, a vase\, jugs\, fruit\, wooden bowls\, flowers\, in fact any inanimate objects that you feel will look good together. \nAlso\, for backgrounds if you wish to bring any textile that you have lying around\, these will help change the look and feel of the final image. \nFor lighting\, if you could bring a torch and / or desk lamp\, and also bring a Tripod. \nThe Workshop will be €15 in order to cover costs. \nThe workshop will be held @ 10.00am – 1.00pm in the ‘Youth Cafe’\, The Mill Community Centre\, Celbridge.  \nMax. DESCRIPTION:Due to the sunrise times becoming ridiculously early\, instead of a sunrise workshop there will be a Morning Landscape Workshop at Carton House on Sunday from 9am to approximately 11am. This will be led by experienced club member Paul Forde. \nThis is aimed at photographers who are just starting out in Landscape Photography\, but all members are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Portrane is a small seaside village located three kilometres East of Donabate in Fingal\, County Dublin\, Ireland. Portrane has an approx. 2 km long sandy beach backed by sand dunes in places on the North side. To the South there are a few small beaches and a cliff walk to Donabate Beach.\nThere is ample parking and beside the car park is a Martello tower and steps to the first beach (the “Hidden Beach” – though it’s in plain view) – some nice shots possible here.\nFurther along the Cliff Walk is Evan’s Tower and\, on the cliff-side are views across to Lambay Island which lies just off the Coast. Also\, some unusual rock formations along the cliffs. So\, lots of variety and opportunities for good shots. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday 2nd September Celbridge Camera Club will have exclusive access to St. Patrick’s Cathedral from 6.15 to 8pm. \nMeet at the side door ( on the right hand side of the building) before 6.15. You can bring your tripod and flash . \nTo photograph a cathedral\, use a wide-angle lens for grand interiors and a long lens for details\, and position yourself to use architectural lines. \nInside\, use a tripod or brace your camera for stability to enable slow shutter speeds in the dim light\, as tripods and flash are often restricted. \nAdjust settings for low light by using a low ISO and appropriate aperture (f/8 or smaller)\, and keep the focus sharp. \nMaps Link to St Patricks Cathedral \nNB there is no outing on Monday 1st September
