DESCRIPTION:Our AV Group will show us some of our individual members’ entries and the club’s entry to the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) Audio Visual Championships 2019. In addition to the National AV Championships the IPF was hosting the 7th International AV competition. The Championships took place last October in Áras Chronáin\, the Irish Cultural Centre in Clondalkin.\nThey will also show us an entry from Italy\, the overall winner of the International category.\nThis will be an opportunity for all of us to see the latest creative works from our Audio Visual Group who have been remarkably successful in both national and international competitions over the years.

DESCRIPTION:Christine is especially known for her wonderful equine sports photography. Regarding wildlife photography\, on one of her recent trips to the Saltee Islands\, she drew attention to the damage caused by pollution in our coastal waters with her powerful photo of a gannet with orange plastic netting wound around its neck. This photo appeared on the front page of the Irish Times.

DESCRIPTION:The Twelfth Lock is overlooked by the old Blanchardstown Mill and is book-ended with two bridges. It is a great example of a well maintained lock with a series of pontoons and at least 15 canal barges.\nWith light closing in early these evenings we won’t have too far to travel. SUMMARY:Heritage Week: Photo Opportunity in Celbridge\, Saturday 24th of August.
DESCRIPTION:Kildrought House\, situated on the Main Street\, is the oldest house in Celbridge. The house was built in 1720 by a Dublin upholsterer & tapestry maker Robert Baillie. From 1782 to 1814 the house was known as the Celbridge Academy. It later became a fever hospital\, vicarage & a dispensary. It then reverted to a private residence.\nThe current owner\, June Stuart\, has given the Camera Club the opportunity to view the beautiful house and gardens this Saturday morning. We will meet at the Slip Hall at 10.15 and walk to the house on the Main Street.\nNumbers are limited to 20 in total. 10 in the gardens and 10 in the house at any one time.\nThere will be a cover charge of €3 per head.

DESCRIPTION:This Monday\, the 12th August\, we will have something very different for our summer outing. A steel wool photography tutorial will be given by two of our senior members. It will take place in Bray\, County Wicklow. Bring your tripod as it will be long exposure photography. If you have two tripods\, please bring both as some of our members may not have one! It should be great fun!\nIt will be dark underfoot when we are leaving our location\, so please bring a flash light or use the torch on your mobile phone.\nWe’ll meet at the Slip Hall at the gates of Castletown at 7.15 p.m.\, a little earlier than usual. DESCRIPTION:It’s a short walk on the Lake Drive from D J Cullen’s pub to Blessington Boat Hire on the shore of the lakes. Hopefully we’ll get images of the sun setting over the lakes. It’s a good location for fishermen. I’m sure we’ll see at least one there!\nOn the way down to the shore there is a turning to the left\, Springwell Lane. You’ll find stonemason Terry O’Flaherty’s yard\, home and his inn\, Ballyknockan Inn (closed). Terry has given us permission to take photos around his property (at our own risk). Loads of interesting images here!\nAs usual we’ll meet at the Slip Hall at 19.30. New members always welcome. Let’s car pool where possible. SUMMARY:Somewhere new this Monday 22nd July for our summer outing. Annaskinnan\, Killucan on the Royal Canal near Kinnegad.
DESCRIPTION:Three locks\, the 18th\, 19th and 20th on the Royal Canal in Annaskinnan\, Killucan. Two pubs\, a level crossing\, the odd boat or barge. Still canal water with lovely reflections. The forecast is perfect\, sun with intermittent clouds.\nWe will meet at the Slip Hall at the village entrance to Castletown on Monday at 19.30. It will take approximately 40 minutes to drive there.
