Stags on Inishvickillane
In Tom’s words: Taken while on a whale watching trip with Eco Marine tours out of Ventry. When there are no whales in the area the skipper usually takes a trip around some of the smaller Blasket Islands. I’ve seen red deer on Inishvickillane on a few previous trips but this was the first time to spot them against the skyline. Their curiosity had almost all of them looking at the passing boat. I sent it to the Irish Times photo editor as I thought that the Charlie Haughey connection might increase interest in the photo. Since it’s appeared in the paper I’ve had some requests for sales of the image. Taken from a passing boat with Canon 7dMk11 and 100-400mm lens at 300mm.
