Still life workshop with Colm Kavanagh

In this workshop, you will learn the techniques required to take stunning Still Life photographs, from conception and propping to composition and lighting, through to the final image. We explore sources of inspiration, finding objects, selecting surfaces and building sets. We will be showing that all household items have the potential to become a Still Life Masterpiece, and that you can create these at home using simple lighting.
If you could please bring some items with you for your still life image, such as, a vase, jugs, fruit, wooden bowls, flowers, in fact any inanimate objects that you feel will look good together.
Also, for backgrounds if you wish to bring any textile that you have lying around, these will help change the look and feel of the final image.
For lighting, if you could bring a torch and / or desk lamp, and also bring a Tripod.
The Workshop will be €15 in order to cover costs.
The workshop will be held @ 10.00am – 1.00pm in the ‘Youth Cafe’, The Mill Community Centre, Celbridge.
