About St Raphael’s Parents & Friends Association
St. Raphael’s was established in 1962 and since then has worked tirelessly to advocate for and support the individuals attending St. John of God Liffey Services, previously known as St. Raphael’s in Celbridge. The services provide school, day service and residential services for approximately 500 individuals with intellectual disabilities, many of whom also have physical disabilities.
One of the functions of the Association is to fundraise for supports for these individuals but fundraising efforts have been hampered by an aging group of Volunteers and with their Annual Garden Fete unable to proceed since Covid. The Association is managed entirely by volunteers with no individual profiting from management or volunteering with the Association. The Association relies on the generosity of the community and business in its fundraising efforts and is grateful that the support of both continues.
